Civil Engineering Innovation (ISSN 1755-0890) is a newly funded international journal sponsored by the Institution of Civil Engineers, UK and is part of the Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers. It publishes papers of the highest quality,reviewed by experts, across all civil engineering sub-disciplines that meet the Institution of Civil Engineers’aims of promotingbest engineering practice, broadening engineers’ knowledge and improving society. The journal places particular emphasis on sustainable development, alternative energy sources and the infrastructure needed to support them, management, transportation and urban development, but will publish innovative papers, reviews and technical notes covering all fields of civil engineering and construction.

《土木工程创新》是一本由英国土木工程师协会支持、新近创刊的国际期刊，是Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers的一部分。杂志发表经过专家审阅的高质量论文，涵盖土木工程的所有分支学科，并符合土木工程师学会宗旨——推广最好的工程实践，拓宽工程师的知识，促进社会发展。该杂志以可持续发展、替代能源以及相应基础设施建设、管理、交通和城市发展为重点，但同时也刊载所有土木工程及建筑领域的创新性论文、综述及技术报告。

Civil Engineering Innovation is a quarterly bilingual journal. It is our aim to help readers, especially civil engineers from mainland China, to benefit from international construction practice, from research, and to be able to exchange ideas with international engineering community. At present, China is launching the largest scale of engineering construction in the world. Chinese civil engineers are emerging into the international construction market. The development of their engineering concepts and technologies will eventually be beneficial to the global sustainable development and contribute to world peace. From a long-term perspective, this journal is devoted to original and innovative papers from international authors worldwide, including those from China.

《土木工程创新》 是一本双语季刊。其目的是帮助读者，特别是大陆地区的土木工程师，了解国际上大量的工程实践经验和教训，以及相关研究成果，帮助他们更好地与国际工程界沟通。当前中国正在进行世界上最大规模的工程建设，同时中国工程师正走向世界，中国土木工程师工程理念的提升、工程技术的提高，从根本上将有益于全球的可持续发展，为人类和平做出贡献。从长远来讲，本刊的目标是在以后各期中发表包括中国作者在内的原创性论文。

In its first volume, Civil Engineering Innovation initially publishes selected papers from ICE’s Proceedings. From the second volume starting in 2008, the journal will publish original papers and short articles. The journal emphasizes engineering practices and applied research. Submitted papers in English or English-Chinese should be 3000-5000 words long and where appropriate illustrated with some photographs and/or line drawings. Case studies are also welcome. All manuscripts will go through a strict double-blind review process. Published papers will be indexed and abstracted by well-known international indexing systems.

《土木工程创新》第一卷以英汉对照的形式重刊近期发表于土木工程师学会旗下学报中的精选论文。从2008年第二卷起，将发表原创性的论文和短文。本刊强调工程实践和应用研究，同时欢迎工程案例研究。稿件以3000－5000字为宜，辅以若干照片和图表，语言为英文或英中对照。所有稿件均需经过严格的双盲评审。发表的论文将被国际知名检索系统检索。
